ZERO ORIGIN, organized by the Rotaract Club of SNS College of Technology, is a problem-driven online hackathon focused on transforming real-world problems into practical, innovative, technology-driven solutions.
Participants can choose challenges across AI, Automation, Cloud Computing, Finance & Economics, and Healthcare Technology, or bring their own validated problem through Open Innovation within the official themes.
To participate, complete the official ZERO ORIGIN Registration Form to register your participation and provide your participant/team details. Stay connected with the organizing team for important announcements, updates, reminders, clarifications, and hackathon-related communication via the Discord and WhatsApp communities. Please provide accurate and complete information — details collected will be used for participant communication, hackathon coordination, submissions, and Round 2 invitations.
🔥 HACKATHON JOURNEY
🟢 ROUND 1 — IDEATE & VALIDATE | FREE: Identify a meaningful problem, understand the affected users, explore existing gaps, and develop your solution concept. Round 1 Submission Window: 27 August – 26 September 2026. Teams must submit their Solution with Pitch Video through this Devpost hackathon page before the deadline.
🔵 ROUND 2 — BUILD & PROVE | ₹50/PERSON: Shortlisted teams will be invited to Round 2 through the Devpost hackathon page. Teams will transform their ideas into a functional prototype and demonstrate its technical implementation, feasibility, and real-world impact. Round 2 is exclusively for shortlisted teams.
HACKATHON TIMELINE: 27 Aug 2026 — Hackathon Launch & Round 1 Registration Opens; 27 Aug – 26 Sep — Round 1 Submission Window (Problem, Solution, PPT + Pitch Video); 26 Sep — Round 1 Submission Deadline; 28 Sep – 4 Oct — Round 1 Judging; 5 Oct — Shortlisted Teams Announcement; 5 – 11 Oct — Round 2 Registration (₹50/person); 11 – 14 Oct — Solution Development; 18 – 23 Oct — Final Judging; 26 Oct — Winner Announcement.
💡 PROBLEM STATEMENTS
🤖 AI: (1) Intelligent Business Document Analysis — Build an AI system that extracts deadlines, obligations, anomalies, missing data, and financial values from invoices, contracts, reports, or compliance documents, with outputs traceable to the original document. (2) Predictive Food Waste Management — Develop a demand-prediction system using historical consumption and factors such as weekdays, holidays, events, and weather to recommend preparation quantities and reduce food waste.
⚙️ AUTOMATION: (3) End-to-End Event Management Automation — Automate registration, verification, attendance, communication, feedback, certificate generation, and reporting while reducing duplicate data entry and manual administration. (4) Dynamic Queue Management — Develop a real-time queue system with registration, priority rules, estimated waiting time, resource availability, and live queue updates to minimize unnecessary waiting.
☁️ CLOUD COMPUTING: (5) Scalable Real-Time Application Infrastructure — Build and deploy a cloud-native application demonstrating horizontal scaling, load balancing, monitoring, fault recovery, database scalability, and performance under normal and high-load conditions.
💰 FINANCE & ECONOMICS: (6) Real-Time Digital Fraud Detection — Develop a system that generates fraud-risk scores using transaction amount, frequency, location, device, timing, and transaction history, while explaining alerts and minimizing false positives. (7) Intelligent Scholarship Matching (Finance & Economics + AI) — Build an AI-powered platform that matches students with scholarships based on academic, financial, demographic, geographic, and other eligibility criteria, while explaining eligibility, identifying missing requirements, ranking opportunities, and tracking deadlines. (8) 30-Day Small Business Cash-Flow Prediction — Develop a forecasting system that predicts a business's cash position for the next 30 days using sales, receivables, payables, expenses, inventory costs, and other relevant data.
🏥 HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY: (9) Intelligent Healthcare Service Navigation — Build a platform that helps patients find suitable healthcare facilities based on required services, location, operating hours, accessibility, and appointment availability. The solution must remain a navigation and coordination tool, not a diagnostic system.
